This gorgeous wedding left me with goosebumps. Andrew and Lindsay we’re married in the jaw dropping, totally dramatic backdrop of Boomrock, on a gorgeous Wellington day. The images we’re sent to us by the gorgeous Alicia Scott of fotografica and they tell a beautiful story. Andrew and Lindsay share there story and vendors below. Enjoy the From Lindsay and Andrew: We chose to have a smaller wedding with our families and closest friends. We were living in the UK leading up to the wedding so we wanted a venue that knew what they were doing. The team at Boomrock were incredible. Set on a cliff above the rugged west coast of Wellington, Boomrock looks out over Cook Straight towards the Marlborough Sounds.
It is a stunning and dramatic setting and we were fortunate to strike a calm, warm and even slightly humid Wellington day. We loved Boomrock’s intimate size, setting and its rustic, warm character. We opted to have most of our photos taken before the ceremony so that we could spend more time with our guests straight afterwards. This worked out really well and meant that we could have that special moment when we see each other for the first time just to ourselves. I found my dress on a pre-worn wedding dress website based out of California. It fit perfectly, apart from the length required me to wear flats. I wore my mothers and grandmothers jewelry and an old brooch in my hair which my sister found in a vintage shop. The bridesmaids all chose their own black dresses and each had a pink silk flower in their hair.
The groomsmen wore bow ties which we had made from Liberty print fabrics from London. Leftover fabric was used to tie up little treat bags on the tables and was also wrapped around the tiers of the wedding cake. The cake was an insanely delicious Belgian chocolate cake made by Aimee Gillett of Charlie & Cake, which was served as dessert with ice cream and fresh berries. We tried to keep things simple – from the cake decoration and the flowers (white and green hydrangeas), to the ceremony itself. We didn’t want to compete with the stunning views or the natural, rustic character of the venue. We had such a relaxed, special day filled with laughter and surrounded by those closest to us.
